Always Coca-Cola

It has been awhile since I have had time to shoot and tonight was no exception, so I decided to take 30 mins tonight to try and get a shot of SOMETHING. Although the can was not perfect (notice the dent at the bottom) it was the first thing that caught my eye as I scanned the kitchen and the red coloring of the can gave me a good excuse to break out the blue gels :)

Read more to see how this shot was taken...

The image is comprised of three shots stitched together using the startrails action in Photoshop:

  1. Blue gel fired at 105mm with 1/64 power to a foam core board half meter from the subject
  2. Flash fired from 45 degrees to the right of the subject
  3. Flash fired from 45 degrees to the left of the subject
The can is sitting on a thin piece of glass on top of a blue table. Perspex would probably be better as you can see some ghosting in the image that is relative to the thickness of the glass.

All shots taken from a Canon 7D with aperture set to f/4 and shutter at 1/250; 430EX II flash was used.
