It has been awhile since I have had time to shoot and tonight was no exception, so I decided to take 30 mins tonight to try and get a shot of SOMETHING. Although the can was not perfect (notice the dent at the bottom) it was the first thing that caught my eye as I scanned the kitchen and the red coloring of the can gave me a good excuse to break out the blue gels :)
Read more to see how this shot was taken...
The image is comprised of three shots stitched together using the startrails action in Photoshop:
- Blue gel fired at 105mm with 1/64 power to a foam core board half meter from the subject
- Flash fired from 45 degrees to the right of the subject
- Flash fired from 45 degrees to the left of the subject
The can is sitting on a thin piece of glass on top of a blue table. Perspex would probably be better as you can see some ghosting in the image that is relative to the thickness of the glass.
All shots taken from a Canon 7D with aperture set to f/4 and shutter at 1/250; 430EX II flash was used.
